Support indie theatre in Ithaca

Posted on October 29, 2012 by ari

The Civic Ensemble, Ithaca’s new theatre company, needs support for their Inaugural Season. We got to know these folks back in July when they did a reading of a play called Wider than the Sky, about animal testing. They actually looked up local animal rights folks, found Vegan Ithaca, and got in touch with us to ask if we could speak on a panel after the show. Shira agreed and took part in a thoughtful dialogue that I thought really respected both animals of all species (including humans). I was impressed that they took the time to arrange something like that, and the play was really thought-provoking, and sensitively staged.

So that’s why I’m posting about them today – they’re kicking off their inaugural season tonight with THIS LINGERING LIFE: Eight Noh Plays in One American Act by Chiori Miyagawa, and they need community support to continue their good work. Click here to donate via Fractured Atlas.
