Teaching & Public Speaking
We love sharing skills and knowledge with people of all ages! We run hands-on workshops and present on topics including film production and distribution, media literacy, social networking, and more. We are also very active as organizers and teachers for the Ithaca Freeskool.
We can teach technical skills (such as video editing, WordPress, and vector-based illustration) one-on-one or as a workshop for students of any age range.
Shira has moderated and spoken on panels at numerous conferences and film festivals around the country including the Community Food Security Conference, the Director’s View Film Festival, the WE RISE Annual International Women Artists Conference, the Arts for Change Conference, the Seeds of Peace “Breaking News, Making Headlines: The Role of Media in Conflict” Conference, the Global Peace Film Festival, the NYC Grassroots Media Conference, the Allied Media Conference, the National Media Education Conference and the Making Your Media Conference.
