Shira’s Music

Shira started taking classical guitar lessons in the fourth grade. She wanted to play the flute, but her mom insisted that the guitar was more social. Thanks mom! Shira’s music is sometimes folk, sometimes pop, sometimes experimental, but always from the heart. She sings and plays guitar and likes to mess around with lots of instruments including the accordion, keyboard, drums, and synthesizer.

Shira has played gigs in London, New York City and Ithaca including at festivals such as Bushwick Open Studios and Porchfest and is hoping to one day start a band and go on tour. Get in touch if you’d like to book a show.

You can listen to some of her songs on MySpace.

Shira’s musical influences include Devendra Banhart, Bob Dylan, Cat Power, Bjork, Tracy Chapman, Peaches, Gillian Welch, Mirah…
